The Engage Program

Powered by the Mox community, the Engage Program supports local charities through giving, gaming, and grassroots action.

Engage is the corporate giving and community outreach program for Mox Boarding House, a division of Card Kingdom, Inc. Through charitable giving, intentional service, fundraising, and in-kind donations, Engage extends our vision to the communities where we live and play.

Launched in June 2013, Engage is the philanthropic arm of Mox Boarding House and Card Kingdom. Our mission is to support organizations that improve education, fulfill basic human needs, and strengthen our neighborhoods and communities. We aim to connect with guests, staff, and partners to give back in big and meaningful ways—through product donations, in-kind support, and volunteerism.

The Gauntlet

Engage is proud to host The Gauntlet, our annual fundraising tournament held at Mox Bellevue. Each spring, tabletop game publishers and local organizations form teams and compete in a day of strategy, silliness, and giving. The event raises funds for a featured nonprofit that directly impacts the Greater Puget Sound region.

Since its inception, The Gauntlet has raised over $650,000 for local organizations, including Hopelink, YouthCare, Wellspring, and Treehouse.

Areas of Focus

We prioritize partnerships with nonprofits whose missions align with one or more of the following focus areas:

  • Education: Schools, tutoring and mentoring programs, technical training, and enrichment clubs (e.g. math, science, chess).
  • Basic Needs: Organizations providing food, shelter, hygiene, and essential services to individuals and families.
  • Neighborhoods & Community: Initiatives that build stronger, safer, and more inclusive communities.

Donation Requests

Engage is committed to helping local nonprofits enhance their fundraisers, outreach efforts, and community programs. Below are our current guidelines for donation requests:

  • Your organization must be a 501(c)(3) or a K–12 public school/school district.
  • Requests must be submitted through our official donation webform.
  • Requests must be tied to a specific event or program (not general funding or individuals).
  • Priority is given to events that benefit the Greater Puget Sound region.

Donation applications are reviewed monthly by the Engage Program Committee. Please allow at least 6–8 weeks before your event or program begins for review and processing. While we strive to support as many causes as possible, demand often exceeds our available resources.
