Mox Boarding House Reopening

We are excited to announce that Mox Boarding House will reopen its doors to welcome the community back in this Friday (June 12). We will be open 7 days a week from 11am to 10pm on weekdays and 10am to 10pm on weekends. Keep reading to see what we are able to offer with the current conditions in place. Also, keep a close eye on our Facebook and Twitter for any updates, as things are constantly changing.

Can I enjoy a meal at Mox Boarding House?

Yes, the restaurant will be open on the same schedule as the store, though with some restrictions, we will only be able to seat at 25% capacity. Check out the delicious food we are offering (Mox Bellevue/Mox Seattle).

Tables will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and we can add you to our waitlist if all tables are already full. We cannot take reservations but feel free to give us a call before visiting to see how busy we are. Additionally, we cannot accommodate groups of more than 5 guests in Seattle/Bellevue and 10 guests in Portland to be seated together at a time. To encourage social distancing. We will also be serving a reduced and modified menu until we are able to fully reopen. Curbside pick up for food will also still be an option at Mox Seattle and Mox Bellevue. For Mox Portland you’ll smile call ahead and we will prepare everything for you, you’ll just need to come inside to pay for and pick up your items.

Can I book a room for a private event at Mox?

Yes, absolutely! If you are looking for a more private or extended visit, consider booking one of our private rooms. These rooms are fully serviced by our restaurant staff who will take your food and beverage orders. They are still limited to a maximum of 5 guests in Bellevue and Seattle and 10 guests in Portland. Please give us a call if you need help making a booking or have any questions.

Can I browse the store?

Yes, however, we are limiting the number of guests who visit to be able to space people accordingly. When visiting simply be conscious as you move around the space to avoid close contact with other guests.

Can I play games and take part in events at Mox?

Not quite yet, with the socual distancing guidelines in place . Consider picking up some games to play at home, or some packs of Magic: The Gathering to draft. We even have a guide on how to run a prerelease at home, over the internet.

Our board game library will remain closed for the time being also. So, if you are dining with us in the restaurant and want to play a game, please feel free to bring in a board game to play or purchase one from our retail store. We are offering a new “Play it Here” program, if you are dining in our restaurant and pick up a game we will give you 15% off the game you pick up. Please note that some restrictions apply such as Games Workshop and MtG product not included, and the offer has to be redeemed day of your dining with us.

Can I drop off singles to sell? Or pick up a MtG singles order?

You can absolutely drop off cards to sell to us, it might just take us a little longer than usual to process. If you are interested in selling a collection to us you can do this by making an appointment, simply send an email to buyer@cardkingdom.com and they will get you set up. Note that drop-offs for collections would go through Mox Seattle only. With regards to picking up singles orders, we are excited to announce that this is back up and running again. See here for links to our MtG Portals. There are only a couple of limitations, Mox Portland is slowly building up it’s inventory, this should dramatically fill up in the next couple of weeks. Additionally, Mox Seattle is currently unable to fill out singles orders on demand, it will take up to 72 hours to prepare the order, and we will email you as soon as it is ready to be picked up.

How to keep yourself and others safe at Mox while visiting

Keeping yourself safe and being considerate of others while visiting us at Mox is simple – and can go a long way to further reducing the spread of COVID. When visiting our stores, please follow the simple steps below:

  • Wear a mask
  • Keep a distance of 6 ft or more between yourself and others
  • Be considerate of how others are moving around the space and adjust your course accordingly
  • If you are feeling at all unwell or have a cough please stay home and take care of yourself.

We have been hard at work to make sure our space is safe for everyone.

  • All of our staff will be wearing masks
  • We have installed plexiglass at the register to add a social distancing barrier at Mox Seattle and Bellevue
  • We regularly clean and sanitize surfaces throughout the store and restaurant
  • We are following guidelines to limit the number of people in our space
  • For the time being, we have suspended our events and closed our game library.

We are excited for you to be able to visit Mox Boarding House again. Having our space be so empty of the hustle and bustle of people enjoying a great meal with family, learning a new game with their kids, and throwing down a game of magic with their friends has been hard for our team – that engagement and community is what we are all about. We can’t wait to get back to that.

-See you at Mox
