What does a private room booking at Mox involve?

Booking a private room at Mox gives you and your guests a dedicated space to enjoy food, drinks, and games in a more intimate setting. Each room is fully serviced by our restaurant team, with a server assigned to take your orders and ensure your experience is seamless from start to finish.

How do I book a private room?

You can book a private room at Mox through our online reservation portal. Select your preferred location, choose a room, and pick your desired date and start time. All bookings require a minimum of two hours, and you can add additional time during checkout if needed.

A credit card is required to hold your reservation. This card is not charged at the time of booking—it will only be charged in the event of a no-show or if the reservation is canceled within 72 hours of the scheduled start time.

All room charges, along with any food and beverage, will be added to your final guest check and paid on-site through our restaurant POS system at the end of your visit.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel or reschedule your reservation at any time by using the link included in your confirmation email. From there, you’ll be able to move your booking to a new time or cancel it altogether.

Cancellations made within 72 hours of your reservation are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the total cost of your booking. This fee also applies in the case of a no-show.

What is the capacity of your private rooms?

For safety and comfort, we are unable to accommodate parties larger than the posted room capacity. These limits are set by local fire codes and cannot be exceeded under any circumstances.

Can I connect to a TV or play music in the private rooms?

Yes! Many of our rooms are equipped with TVs and HDMI hookups. You’re welcome to bring a laptop, game console, or other device to connect during your reservation.

Power outlets are available in each room, and we’re happy to loan you an HDMI cable if needed. If your device requires a special adapter or connector, please bring that with you. Our team is always happy to assist if you need help getting set up.

How will I be charged for the private room booking?

You’ll pay for your private room at the end of your visit, along with any food and beverages ordered during your stay. All charges will appear on a single guest check, and your server can assist with splitting the bill if needed.

Payment is collected on-site through our restaurant point-of-sale system. The card used to reserve your room online cannot be charged at checkout—it is only used by our booking partner in the event of a late cancellation or no-show.

Can everyone in my group help pay for the room?

Yes! When it's time to settle your bill, your server can help split the room and dining charges however you'd like—whether that’s evenly among guests or by specific items. Everyone in your group is welcome to contribute.

If you plan to split the bill, we recommend letting your server know early in your visit so they can set things up accordingly and make checkout as smooth as possible.

Do you have high chairs?

Yes, we have a limited number of high chairs and booster seats available at each Mox location. They’re offered on a first-come, first-served basis. While availability usually isn’t an issue, we recommend arriving a few minutes early or letting your server know right away if you'll need one.

What should I do if we are running late?

If you’re running late for your reservation, please call the restaurant directly to let us know. We’ll do our best to hold your room, but if we haven’t heard from you within 30 minutes of your scheduled start time, your reservation may be canceled and the room released.

How far in advance can I book a private room?

You can book a private room up to 90 days in advance. Rooms tend to fill up quickly—especially during weekends and evenings—so we recommend booking early to secure your preferred time and space.

How does food and beverage work? Can we bring our own?

All private rooms are fully serviced by our restaurant team, and you’re welcome to order anything from our food and beverage menus during your visit:

Guests may bring a commercially-made dessert to help celebrate a special occasion. All that we ask is that the dessert stays within the room at all times.

Guests may also bring wine or champagne for a special event. A corkage fee may apply and our staff will assist with serving. No advance notice is required.

We are planning a special event (anniversary, birthday, bachelorette, etc.). Can we decorate the space?

Yes, you're welcome to decorate your private room to help celebrate your special occasion. We just ask that decorations do not damage the space—please avoid glitter and use caution when attaching anything to the walls or furniture.

You may arrive up to 10 minutes before your reservation to set up. If you need more time, consider booking additional time when making your reservation.

I would like to film a video, live stream, or photoshoot in one of your private rooms. How would I set that up?

We’re happy to accommodate filming, photography, or live streaming in our private rooms when possible. Just email us at support@moxboardinghouse.com with a few details about your request, and our team will be in touch to help coordinate.

We are interested in hosting a charity event in your private room. How would we go about that?

Can we consume alcohol if children are at the event?

If your group includes guests under the legal drinking age, alcohol service may be limited at the discretion of your server. In some cases, we may use wristbands or perform ID checks to ensure compliance with state laws.

What if we leave early or want to stay longer than our reserved time?

Your reservation is billed based on the time you booked, so if you leave early, you’ll still be charged for the full reserved duration.

If your group would like to stay longer and the room is not booked after you, you’re welcome to extend your reservation. Additional time is charged in 30-minute increments and will be added to your final bill. Just let your server know, and we’ll check availability.

How can I book a larger space for my group or event?

If you're looking to book a larger space—such as a tournament hall, patio, or full dining area—please visit our Private Events and Catering page.

From there, you can explore available event spaces, view capacity limits, rental fees, and catering menus for each location. When you're ready, just click the “Inquire About Private Events” button to fill out a short form. Your request will be sent directly to our store leadership team, who will review availability and follow up with next steps.

How can I book a private room at Mox Chandler?

Private rooms at Mox Chandler are currently available by request only while we finish preparing the spaces. In the meantime, we’re offering 50% off the standard reservation fee for all private room bookings at this location.
