An amazing weekend under the big top

An amazing day of games and giving just flew by, and all the majesty of the circus was on display at this year’s annual day of games and giving, The Gauntlet: Cirque! The dust has settled and we’ve packed up the tent and we’re so proud of each team who participated and raised money for this year’s beneficiary, El Centro de la Raza. There will still be money coming in over the next few weeks, but as of today The Gauntlet: Cirque! raised $117,342, surpassing our goal by more than $47,000! Between our sponsors, donors, participants and volunteers The Gauntlet: Cirque! had more support than ever in the event’s six-year history. All the fun under the big top This year’s gauntlet was a highlight in Engage’s history. We’re approaching the end of Modern Horizons preview season and the excitement level for this set is getting dangerously high. New cross-format staples, new Modern archetypes, Slivers and Ninjas and Bears, oh my! So you want to play it? How about playing it with Seattle Seahawks’ Defensive End Cassius Marsh and spellslingers from Magic: The Gathering R&D? What if we threw in special prizes and all proceeds went to the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County? Seemed like a pretty good idea to us, too. On June 14 at Mox Boarding House Bellevue, Card Kingdom and Wizards of the Coast are partnering to host a charity Modern Horizons sealed FNM! The event will start with an attendee meet and greet with Cassius at 5:30 p.m. with the tournament firing at 6:15 p.m. Entry fee is $50 and every dolla

The Gauntlet: A closer look at El Centro de la Raza

Now in its sixth year, The Gauntlet has worked with several amazing organizations as beneficiaries, but this year we’re proud to work with one of the best around. On the heels of passing our goal with 5 days until our teams show up in Bellevue, it feels like a good time to introduce and highlight why we chose El Centro de la Raza for The Gauntlet: Cirque! An idea is bornBorn out of hard times in the early 1970s, a small group of students and staff peacefully occupied the historic Beacon Hill School outside of downtown Seattle, laying the foundation of what would become El Centro de la Raza. Translated to “The Center for People of All Races,” they wear their hearts on their sleeves and aim to provide a feeling of home for all people interested in making a better world for each other by educa

Thanksgiving marks the start of an important time for all of us at Mox Boarding House- it’s Giving Tree season! This is the time of year that we look forward to celebrating the generosity of our community by hosting our holiday Giving Trees at both of our locations.
